Early Kick and Loss Detection (EKLD)

Maximizes operational safety and enhances the management of major accident risks

Detecting kicks and losses in the wellbore as soon as they occur immediately maximizes operational safety and enhances the management of major accident risks.

We use the latest generation of mass flow meters to provide highly accurate real time monitoring of the drilling mud returns. The software compensates for and corrects external influences on the mud returns, such as rig heave and drill pipe movements, and provides immediate warning of abnormal conditions. Expected mud returns are automatically determined and any deviation triggers an alarm.

With our Early Kick and Loss Detection (EKLD) service, we can monitor the downhole conditions and determine gains and losses, flowback fingerprinting, wellbore breathing, surge and swab, reamer activation, mud pump efficiency, and fracture identification.

The EKLD service is fully integrated with the XView platform and all data can be viewed anywhere in the world, in real time, through the SkyView web-based remote monitoring service.
