Integrated Interpretation Workflow

From our past experience, we know that the potential value of the technological advances described in the introduction can only be fully realized by the industry if a rigorous interpretation workflow is systematically applied as an integral part of the drilling and logging process.

General Description

Excellence Logging has a comprehensive workflow in place. It is flexible, scalable and fully adaptable to meet customer needs and wellbore challenges. The workflow improves geological, geochemical and geomechanical understanding of the drilled zone before, during, and after, drilling operations.

Our interpretation workflow is organized along three successive layers which are:

  • Xview (CrossView): the initial layer of surface data acquisition, sampling, and raw data aggregation
  • Xcheck (CrossCheck): the subsequent layer of data interpretation through additional aggregation and integration. This may include other data sources (both internal and 3rd party) such as laboratory measurements, open hole logs, and seismic attributes
  • Xfield (CrossField): the final layer of data integration, interpretation and well-to-well correlation

Each layer should be viewed as a step-in acquisition, aggregation and integration of data, beginning with acquisition at the Xview layer at the wellsite. The data is then aggregated and interpreted in the Xcheck layer (either locally or remotely) to identify specific facies of associated stratigraphic units. This augmented data set then progresses to the Xfield layer where it is interpreted spatially to create a 3D visualization of the geochemical and geomechanical facies. CrossField studies (before, during & after the job) is supporting the crosscheck processing needed to enhance the data acquired at the drilling site (Process & Evaluate). Expert Technical Center provides more accurate modelling and analysis of acquired data. Experts are in position to provide advanced interpretation of drilling events (Model & Resolve).
