Tom co-founded Blue Water Energy in 2011. Tom’s responsibilities range from deal origination and structuring to execution, monitoring and exit strategy evaluation. Tom is involved in investment activities throughout the entire energy industry, with particular expertise in the midstream and services sectors. He has over 25 years of private equity experience. Before Blue Water Energy, Tom served as Managing Director and, from 2006, Head of the London office of First Reserve Corporation. Tom holds an A.B. degree Magna Cum Laude in Economics from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Tom has served in recent years as a director on the boards of Aquilex Corp., Dresser, Inc., Dresser-Rand Group, Inc., Quanta Services, Inc. and Bahamas Oil Refining Company International Limited (BORCO). Tom is on the board of Halvorsen AS, Excellence Logging, Galileo Technologies and GPS Group.
In addition to sitting on the board of Kentech, Mark Dickinson is a Managing Director in Blue Water Energy. Mark Dickinson joined Blue Water Energy in June 2015. Mark has almost 20 years of PE investing experience and brings a strong investment track record from his previous roles at 3i and, more recently, Arle Capital Partners. Mark, while previously a consultant for us, introduced Kentech that went on to be one of our 2015 investments. He is an ACA and holds an LLB from the University of Hull. Mark currently serves on the board of Kentech, Halvorsen AS, Galileo Technologies and Influit.
Vincent joined Blue Water Energy in 2012 and currently serves on the board of Authentix and Excellence Logging. Prior to joining BWE, Vincent worked at Advent International, Blackstone and L.E.K Consulting. He holds a Master’s degree in engineering from Trinity College, Cambridge and focuses on businesses with a technological differentiation.
Bill has extensive experience in the oil and gas business, starting in 1978, spending more than 35 years in Schlumberger working across almost all the Schlumberger companies in management positions around the world, living and working in 16 countries, 4 continents. In that time he spent 6 years seconded to Amoco then BP-Amoco in their applied technology group in the drilling organisation . He spent the last ten years as part of the leadership team in the marketing and technical organisation across Schlumberger, finishing with responsibility for the entire sales organisation of Schlumberger. In addition he chaired the yearly competition for transformational service integration across each of the businesses. This has provided a wide knowledge of identifying and introducing technical innovation, in oil and gas fields around the world, that provides value, from the perspective of both the operating and service company. Since retiring from Schlumberger he has been involved in advising private equity groups on investments in the oil and gas service arena, and continues to serve as Vice Chairman of Cubility A.S.
John Lechner has more than 35 years of oilfield experience and has worked in the European, African, Russian, North American, Middle Eastern and Far Eastern markets. He joined Schlumberger in June of 1984 and performed land and offshore electric wireline services from 1984 to 1990, before becoming Location Manager in Stavanger, Norway from 1990-1993. He then spent two years with Schlumberger Corporate Internal Audit in Paris, before switching his technical focus to drilling engineering and held various operations and business development roles in contract drilling and integrated drilling project management with Schlumberger, Parker Drilling and OiLSERV from 1995 through 2012. For the last six years he worked for Archer, with the last three years as Chief Executive Officer. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
Bruno Burban has 37 years of Experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. He has been Chairman & Chief Executive Officer at Geoservices from 1999 to 2010. He joined Geoservices in 1982 as a field engineer working in Mud Logging and went on to various technical, commercial and operational positions between 1985 and 1990. He served as Marketing & Technical Manager at Geoservices since 1990 then Deputy Managing Director from 1994 to 1999. Most recently, he advised several private equity funds on oilfield services acquisitions as well as one of the French leaders in consultant administrative services. Bruno Burban is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Lyon and holds an Executive MBA from HEC Paris.
