Bruno Burban has 33 years of Experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. He has been Chairman & Chief Executive Officer at Geoservices from 1999 to 2010. He joined Geoservices in 1982 as a field engineer working in Mud Logging and went on to various technical, commercial and operational positions between 1985 and 1990. He served as Marketing & Technical Manager at Geoservices since 1990 then Deputy Managing Director from 1994 to 1999. Most recently, he advised several private equity funds on oilfield services acquisitions as well as one of the French leader in consultant administrative services. Bruno Burban is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Lyon and the Executive MBA from HEC Paris.
Executive Vice President
Benoit Debray has 32 years’ experience in the international E&P and oilfield service industries. He has been Chief Operating Officer and board member of Geoservices from 1999 to 2007. Prior to this position, he was drilling and production deputy director for the French Institute of Petroleum. His initial position in the E&P industry was with Elf Aquitaine as a reservoir engineer and he has extensive service industry and operations experience in well testing and production logging, R&D, marketing and key account management. Most recently Benoit was the Chairman & CEO of Candax Energy Inc., a Toronto-listed oil and natural gas company engaged in the exploration, development and production in North Africa. Benoit Debray graduated with a degree in petroleum engineering (IFP School) and mechanical engineering (Ecole Centrale de Nantes). He also holds an Executive MBA from HEC Paris.
Michael De Rhune
Michael De Rhune has over 27 years of finance experience and has worked for a number of international companies across a range of different industries. Starting his career in public practice, he then worked at various financial institutions and other companies before moving to the offshore oil & gas subsea services industry where he held senior finance, chief financial officer and advisory positions, working with leading subsea services companies such as Acergy, Subsea 7, Ceona and Bibby Offshore. Michael is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, a member of the Institute Of Chartered Tax Advisors and a Graduate of the University of London.
Bill has extensive experience in the oil and gas business, starting in 1978, spending more than 35 years in Schlumberger working across almost all the Schlumberger companies in management positions around the world, living and working in 16 countries, 4 continents. In that time he spent 6 years seconded to Amoco then BP-Amoco in their applied technology group in the drilling organisation. He spent the last ten years as part of the leadership team in the marketing and technical organisation across Schlumberger, finishing with responsibility for the entire sales organisation of Schlumberger. In addition he chaired the yearly competition for transformational service integration across each of the businesses. This has provided a wide knowledge of identifying and introducing technical innovation, in oil and gas fields around the world, that provides value, from the perspective of both the operating and service company. Since retiring from Schlumberger he has been involved in advising private equity groups on investments in the oil and gas service arena, and continues to serve as Vice Chairman of Cubility A.S.
VP Latin America
Pascal Mirville has over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Since he first joined Geoservices in 1979 as mud logging geologist, he has held numerous senior operational positions worldwide including Country Manager for Brazil, District Manager for West Africa, District Manager for South Latin America and Vice President Americas for operations in both North and South America.
From 2010 to 2013, Pascal Mirville was based in Tunisia as Chief Operating Officer of Candax Energy Inc., a Toronto-listed oil and natural gas company. In 2013 he was appointed General Manager of the International Slickline company Wilog International. He holds an Electronical Engineering degree from Ecole Central d’Electronique Paris.
Well Intervention Manager
Michel Nadeau has over 35 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry. He had numerous positions including holding the position of Corporate Slickline Supply Chain Manager and Latin America Slickline Manager for Geoservices Group. He worked actively in new products development such as Gem Line & Slickline units. He also participated on several due diligences for the acquisition of Slickline companies as technical advisor. After the merger of Geoservices with Schlumberger, he was one of the key players for the integration of the Slickline business. Most recently, Michel co–founded Wilog International in which he became Technical Manager from 2012 to 2015. Michel holds a Mechanical degree from Bordeaux University.
Jean Marie Penanguer

Jean-Marie Penanguer has 34 years of Experience in the international oil & gas industry. Starting out in October 1981 with Geoservices as a field engineer. Field positions held include Mud logging & data Engineer’s positions Off Shore West Africa and On Shore North Africa. After two years in the training department, some technical support positions and various projects (including the year 2000 project), Jean Marie held several senior management roles in IT, Quality & Operation Support and Supply Chain with Geoservices group. He has been appointed to the Geoservices Executive Committee in 2005 as Vice President Operation Support & Logistics. Most recently Jean-Marie worked for Schlumberger as Logistics manager, where he specialized in logistics processes, negotiation and cost structure while developing strong relationship with the main logistics providers.
VP Asia Middle East
Yves Gehan holds an Engineering degree from HEI Lille in France. He started his oil and gas career with Geoservices in 2002 as field engineer in Mudlogging and later in well testing. He progressed into operations management with assignments in Nigeria, Angola and District Manager of the West Africa region finally participating in the integration of the Geoservices group into Schlumberger. In 2010 Yves Gehan became one of the 3 founder managers of the Wilog group specialized in Geology related manpower and slickline services, reaching a yearly turnover of 23Musd in 2014
Pierre-Henri Boutant has 18 years of experience mainly acquired in the international oil & gas industry with several senior management roles in Finance with Geoservices Group advising corporations and operations over complex international environments in West Africa and Latin America with great accomplishments in team building, team management, cost restructuring and implementation of internal control. Most recently Pierre-Henri worked as CFO of Candax a junior E&P Company listed in Toronto. Prior to joining Geoservices, Pierre-Henri spent four years with Elf Aquitaine in France and Gabon and four other years as manager for Bearing Point, a business consulting firm where he developed a professional approach on business system. Finance Director Asia
Thang N’Guyen Van started his role as Finance Director Asia at Excellence Logging in September 2015. Before joining Excellence Logging, Thang enjoyed a successful 17-year experience with leading companies in different industries such as Sonepar, Geoservices and more recently Schlumberger. Thang’s career path, starting as an intern in Consolidation, to technical corporate finance positions and senior regional, global finance roles in Europe, Africa, Americas, Asia, Australia and the Middle East, has built up his extensive hands-on experience in all facets of business with a good balance between global and local, supporting and partnering, doing and leading. Thang holds an MBA degree from the Institut Supérieur de Gestion in Paris, France.
VP and Finance Director North America
Chuck Major brings over thirty years of finance and operational management experience to his role with Excellence Logging. After beginning his career in public accounting providing tax and audit consulting for a variety of industries, he served as General Manager, Chief Financial Officer, Controller and Director of a privately held plastics manufacturer. Chuck most recently served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Horizon Well Logging, LLC. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Tulsa and is a lifetime member of the University of Tulsa Lettermen’s Association. Chuck is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a member of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA).
Yann Douarin started his oil and gas industry career on the 1st December 1984. He held numerous position on operation site and continents before to get the opportunity to consolidate and develop Geoservices presence in Caspian Area. After almost 10 years spent in Baku looking after Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, building business, team, local content and high level of revenue, he was transferred to Houston to take care of the North America District Operations. After two years of high profile jobs delivering in different environment as unconventional land, Ultra HT, HTHP Deep water, he was offered to integrate Sales and Marketing team as Global Account Manager and to participate to Geoservices integration by Schlumberger. Then he was promoted to Sales and Marketing Manager Europa-Africa for Geoservices a Schlumberger Company increasing turn over per unit and Ebit from an aggressive sell-up plan. Yann is graduated from Institut Universitaire de Technologie du Mans and was nominated in 2006 to be active participant of “France International Trade Advisor” (Comitté National des Conseillers du Commerce Exterieur de la France).
Technical & Marketing Manager North America
Sachin Sharma, a post graduate Geologist, has 23 years’ experience in the International Oil and Gas Industry. Starting as a field operator with OFI in 1993, joined Geoservices four years later. Working around the globe, held various field positions including Mudlogging, Pore Pressure and advanced Mud Gas Services. He was one of the founder members of Geoservices Expertise Centre established in Dundee, Scotland in 2005, steered it to a worldwide success within a couple of years. Moved to HQ in France as Product Champion for strategic deployment of advanced Gas and Geochemical services. Worked as Schlumberger Mudlogging Operations Manager in South East Asia for the last two years, before joining Excellence Logging. An industry recognized advanced gas interpretation expert, Sachin has various publications, articles, presentations and workshop to his credentials.
Farouk Kimour is an upstream petroleum industry professional with a strong focus on Technology, Innovation and new businesses. He has been Research and Technology Project Manager for Geoservices, a Schlumberger Company, in the Technology Center in Roissy, France. He led projects related to new technologies for surface data logging and measurements on drilled cuttings, gas and drilling fluids. Before joining Geoservices in 2004, Farouk worked for American Air Liquide as a R&D Engineer in Chicago, Illinois. There he worked in the Gas Analysis Group and developed several gas analyses techniques using GC-MS and ICP-MS. During his first 4 years at Geoservices, besides leading projects at Geoservices headquarters, Farouk Kimour held several field positions from Mud Logger to Senior Flair Engineer, working in France, Austria, U.A.E., Iran, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan (Caspian Sea), Turkey (Black Sea), Brunei, and the United States. Farouk received his M.S. degree in Chemistry from Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Mulhouse, Alsace, France. He has authored several technical papers and international patents.
Jacques Lessi has more than 37 years of experience in Research and Development related to oil & gas upstream industry, both in public research during 22 years and in service company for the last 15 years. In his last position, he was in charge of the Interpretation and Modelling department of the Roissy Technology Center of Geoservices, a Schlumberger Company. The main projects managed in this department were related to drilling efficiency, vibration detection and mitigation, wellbore stability and hydraulic balance, formation evaluation both for fluid content and rock mineralogy characterization. Before Geoservices acquisition by Schlumberger, Jacques was also involved in Field Surveillance projects aimed mainly at improving well activation performance. Before joining Geoservices in 2000, Jacques occupied various positions in the French Petroleum Institute successively research engineer, project manager and projects coordinator. His main competencies developed in this period were related to reservoir engineering, rock mechanics, hydraulic fracturing, horizontal well production (in the pioneering 80’s period) and water conformance control. Jacques has authored along his career several international publications and about 25 patents (20 US patent presently issued).
Rig Instrumentation Manager
Louis Sourice, a graduate chemist with additional electronics background, has 40 years of experience in the International upstream Oil & Gas Industry. Joined Geoservices in May 1975 as a mud logger then data engineer operating worldwide (mainly West Africa, Middle East & Asia) After several years in the North Sea as a ML Unit supervisor, joined the technical team in the Aberdeen-Scotland, operating up to 40 offshore units and supported the innovative ALS project (installation of the Alwyn North production platform for TOTAL Oil Marine in 1987) Appointed in 1988 at the Technical Field Support Team (Technops) in the Geoservices Paris headquarters. Joined the ML R&D section of the Direction Technique to design high tech equipments then developed new Gas Analysis Systems as a project leader and the associated mud-gas extractors. Louis commitment has always been focused at improving ML field instrumentation, selecting & adapting best industry standards: large mass flow meters for EKD, new level sensors, continuous mud characteristics monitoring. Always keeping in mind the “safety at work” for our offshore teams for easy field installation, low maintenance and optimum reliability of the ML instrumentation
